Flaming Phoenix Hot Sauce

I was tasked with creating a logo, hot sauce box, label, and tradeshow banner for Flaming Phoenix, a hot sauce brand. The project was aimed at people aged 25 to 45 who like bold, flavourful hot sauces and appreciate quality, small-batch products. The bird skull breathing fire conveys the sauce's intense heat and gives the brand a rebellious edge. I needed to design the label and box in both English and French. To do this, I made space for French by doubling my English copy, then translated it into French later in the process. I could only use four process colours and one spot colour, so I chose a mix of moody and bright colours to create contrast and add visual interest. For the tradeshow banner, I made sure no letters crossed the crease lines by carefully adjusting the spacing. Through this project, I learned how to design within a dieline and what information is required on Canadian food packaging in both English and French.
